I lost my debit card. Can I get a new card today? How long does it take to get a new card?

Flanagan State Bank does offer temporary debit cards at any of our six retail locations upon approval. If a card is mailed, the standard mailing time is 7-10 business days from the date the card is issued. All debit cards come in a secure, plain white envelope.

How can I keep my debit card from being shut off while traveling?

The best way is to utilize the FSB Wallet through the Quick Links/My Cards on your mobile app to add your travel plans and dates in the Travel Plan section. We also recommend adding the phone number for the Fraud Department 1-844-650-0544 to your phone contacts, so you know to answer if they call or respond if they leave a message.

What do I do if I lost my debit card?

While you are looking for your debit card, you can lock your card through the Mobile App and the FSB Wallet in Quick Links/My Cards, or you can notify any Flanagan State Bank branch during banking hours, and they can restrict your card while you search for the card. If you know the card is lost, stolen, or was left somewhere, contact any Flanagan State Bank branch as soon as possible during banking hours to close the card.

How old do you have to be to get a debit card?

Generally, Flanagan State Bank recommends a minor be at least 14 years old to open a checking account with a parent or guardian as the joint owner and qualify to have a debit card.

Can I open an account for a minor child?

Yes. The options are:

  • If the child can write their name and sign the signature card, the account can be opened in the child’s name and under their Social Security number with a parent(s) or guardian as the joint owner.
  • If the child is too young to write their name, then the account can be opened in an adult’s name with a title “For Benefit Of the child’s name”.
  • Another option if the child is too young to write their name and the account needs to be in the child’s name and under their Social Security number for tax purposes, an Illinois Uniform Transfer to Minor Act account can be opened by an adult, who would be the custodian of the account. Specific rules apply to these types of accounts and should be reviewed to make sure the custodian is willing to follow the rules.
Why are there spending limits on my debit card?

Spending limits are set in place for your security. In case someone steals your debit card number, they will only have a certain amount of funds available to take before the card will not work anymore.
