Welcome to our Flanagan State Bank Branch in Bloomington, Illinois

Flanagan State Bank was founded in 1913 and has been family-owned since Hank Schwerin became involved in the 1930’s. Opened in the early 2000s, you can find our Bloomington office on the corner of Washington and Prospect, across the street from Jim’s Steak House. Look for our big, white building.

When you visit us, you may be surprised that our building doesn’t look like a bank. When you enter our front doors, you’ll find the bank on one side and a hair salon on the other. Our building has other business tenants on the basement and upper levels. Parking is available for customers on the North and East sides of the bank building. Our bank is wheelchair accessible and we have a drive-thru ATM also for your convenience.

As a longtime family bank, we love to support our local community. The Bloomington office typically hosts a holiday open house annually in December. Our senior commercial loan officer works closely with the Small Business Development Center at Illinois Wesleyan University and sometimes sponsors seminars related to starting a small business. The bank sponsors and our senior mortgage loan officer volunteers at a local golf outing each year for the networking of local lenders and realtors. We also on occasion host talks by investment advisor, Matthew Schwerin, of CAPS Financial.

Katie has been with Flanagan State Bank for 12 years and enjoys helping customers find the best account to meet their specific needs. Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and has lived in Bloomington for 14 years. The most rewarding part of Katie’s job is the satisfaction of helping someone discover the best account option to meet their needs:
